Roots & Wings Care Center

Tehran, 2015

Collaborative Project

The Roots & Wings Care Center is a social initiative designed as part of a broader effort to revitalize the Darakeh River Valley in Tehran. The project envisions two residential facilities—one for elderly individuals and another for children who are homeless or at risk. Although they will live in separate houses, the spaces will be connected through a shared garden and communal areas to encourage daily interaction. The core idea is rooted in research showing that meaningful relationships between children and seniors can offer emotional, psychological, and developmental benefits for both groups. Seniors gain a renewed sense of purpose and companionship, while children experience nurturing guidance and care in a stable environment.
